About The ECE

My name is Chantelle Halvorson and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am honoured to call home the traditional unceded Lkwungen territories, now known as Saanich, BC.

I am extremely passionate about sustainability, and I have a strong love of plants and all things green. I am an advocate for love and respect for all people and cultures. I also feel strongly about the importance of being outdoors. Our family’s free time is spent hiking, camping, visiting beaches, gardening, and travelling whenever possible.

My professional background is in environment and sustainability. I received my Bachelor’s of Environmental Science at UVic, and then pivoted to study Architecture and Building Technology at BCIT, where I specialized in green roofs and solar energy. I then worked at an engineering firm in Victoria as an office coordinator until I discovered my passion for childcare. I began the process of building this childcare center in 2019, while getting my Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification from UBC and working as a teacher.

Since discovering my passion for working with children, I believe that I have found a career that perfectly suits my core values and strengths. I want to make the world better, advocate for being outdoors and for taking care of our planet, create real connections between people, and brighten the days of those who choose to include me in their life. I feel privileged to make these passions a daily reality through my work with you and your family.

So here I am today with an open heart, wanting to work alongside your children in shared understanding, learning from one another and inspiring their passions. As the owner of Flower Patch Kids, I sincerely welcome your family to ours.

With Gratitude,

Chantelle
